Volarević Vineyards are the fruit of a father and four sons’ hard work in the very heart of Komarna region at the sunny South of the Dalmatian coast. The result is the tempting wine tasting room, phenomenal wines and premium quality.
Their vineyard is located in the south of the beautiful Dalmatian coast, in the heart of Komarna, the youngest vineyard in Croatia. The story begins in 2005 with the reclamation of karst. The soil is very rocky, and it took a lot of hard work, mechanization and resources to be fertile.
The procedure was carried out by removing thick roots and large stones that were grounded to a depth of 60 cm to ensure the best conditions for growing vines. The Komarna vineyards are a specific terroir on which the cultivation of autochthonous Croatian varieties such as Plavac Mali, Tribidrag, Pošip and Maraština.
