Vir

  • Zadar Region

Vir is an island in Croatia surrounded by numerous northern Dalmatian islands, it is 23km away or only a 20-minute drive from the regional center, the city of Zadar; and a 10-minute drive from the historic town of Nin. Since 1976, it has been connected to the mainland by a harbor bridge, making Vir an integral part of the mainland. There is no toll for crossing the Vir bridge.

Vir’s tourist offer is exclusively based on private accommodation in family pensions, modern apartments as well as the rental of entire houses for a pleasant and relaxing summer vacation. The island of Vir is still not a place of big hotels and disco clubs, but it is a place of good restaurants and attractive cocktail bars. In addition to the above, accommodation in camps is also attractive.

Vir’s beaches are characterized by impeccable cleanliness and excellent sea quality. The entire island of Vir is one big beach. Every year, more and more fans of cyclotourism strongly recommend going to Vir, for the reason of adrenaline fun in the fairytale Vir area of the Zadar archipelago.
